Heating to Huhne

Chris Huhne visits Charnwood HQ

On August 2 the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne visited our factory. He was given a tour of the works to see the final stage of our latest £2 million investment and even cut the ribbon to open our new robotic welding cell.

We had some positive discussions with regard to the important part wood burning stoves can play in reducing carbon emissions and a their potential recognition in the Renewable Heating Initiative (RHI). Representatives from a number of local fuel suppliers also joined us for the afternoon.

During his trip to the Isle of Wight Chris Huhne also visited a number of other green energy businesses including wind turbine manufacturers Vestas' new R&D facility.

Mr Huhne, was full of praise for efforts to transform the Island into one of the most environmentally sustainable places in the country.
