How to size a small stove correctly
Choosing the correct heat output for your space is key to your comfort and to clean, efficient burning.
1/ Measure your space (length × width × height) and take into consideration insulation, glazing and air-tightness.
2/ Use our Stove Calculator as a starting point, then speak with an official Charnwood dealer for further advice.
3/ Avoid oversizing as it encourages burning at lower temperatures which can cause creosote build-up and less efficiency. Size correctly and burn seasoned/kiln dried wood for the cleanest and most efficient results.
Installation tip: Always use a HETAS-registered installer. They will advise on chimney/flue requirements, hearth, ventilation and Smoke Control Area rules, and ensure safe, compliant stove use.

The Aire 300 Intelligent uses our iBlu air control technology to manage airflow through the burn automatically. In practice that means easier lighting, steadier heat and a beautifully clear view of the flames without constant adjustment. Many users and retailers report significant fuel savings (up to 50%) compared with manual stoves when using automatic mode (via the simple front mounted button or optional Charnwood Control App which lets you tweak and learn). However, if and when you want a more hands on experience you can switch off automatic mode and take full control.

A much-loved Charnwood classic. The Country 4 is neat, sturdy and graceful, with a single door that frames a clear, lively fire view. Despite its compact footprint, it takes logs up to 332 mm (13″) and can, in some situations, be installed without external air due to its rated output.

How to get the best from a small stove
•Use seasoned hardwood with moisture ≤20% (store it off the ground, keep it covered with good airflow).
•Let the stove reach working temperature before turning it down. For the Aire Intelligent, day-to-day use is easiest and most efficient in automatic mode.
•Empty ash as recommended, wipe the glass, and have the chimney swept annually.
•Follow the user guide and book periodic servicing.
